By the end of the competition, Viera High School, above, emerged as the clear powerhouse—sweeping first, second, and third place in a field packed with talented young investors.
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Students from five Brevard Public Schools put their financial knowledge to the test recently during the Junior Achievement Space Coast Stock Exchange Challenge, a fast-paced simulation designed to teach real-world investing skills.
The event, held at Eastern Florida State College, brought together teams from Viera High, Space Coast Jr/Sr High, Heritage High, Cocoa High, and Cocoa Beach Jr/Sr High for a high-energy day of strategy, teamwork, and hands-on learning.

Viera High Takes the Podium

The Hawk Stocks team secured the top spot with sharp decision-making and consistent gains throughout the trading simulation, earning the highest overall portfolio value.
2nd Place – Sophrosyne Advisors • Carson Lynch • Michael Maroz • Richard Wright
Finishing strong in second place, Sophrosyne Advisors impressed judges with their disciplined approach and well-timed trades.
3rd Place – Hawk Elite • Amane Kuwajima • Gia Deligato • Katie Burwinkel • Bianka Durand
Hawk Elite rounded out the podium, giving Viera High a clean sweep and demonstrating the school’s strong focus on business education and financial literacy.

Junior Achievement SpaceCoast and Eastern Florida State College staff applauded the students’ professionalism and enthusiasm, noting that the skills practiced during the event mirror those used in the financial industry every day. Educators also praised the event for inspiring confidence in students who may pursue future careers in business, finance, economics, or entrepreneurship.
While Viera High claimed the top three positions, students from all participating schools were recognized for their hard work, preparation and sportsmanship.
