Titans turn their attention to the spring championship season

BREVARD COUNTY • FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College men’s golf team finished the fall season with a second-place finish at the Dan York Memorial Invite in Cullman, Alabama.
The Titans shot a 289 in the final round of the tournament at Terri Pines Country Club. The 1-over par was the best round of the day but could not catch Central Alabama Community College who won the tournament.
Blake Hodges shot 3-under 69 to finish the tournament 1-over and tie for second place overall. Hodges shot 1-under on the front nine and 2-under on the back nine, finishing with five birdies and two bogeys in the round.
Teammate Sean Jacoby also shot under par in the final round, shooting 1-under 71 to finish tied for seventh overall. He would birdie 17 and 18 to finish the round strong after starting with a birdie and a couple of bogeys.
Jamie Smith finished with a 1-over 73 to move up into a tie for 11th place overall. After starting the round with a double bogey, Smith would finish with three straight birdies to finish the round strong.
Josh Bibby finished 16th overall, shooting a 76 in the final round.
“Good job by the team today hanging in there,” Eastern Florida State College men’s golf coach Jamie Howell said. “Losing Danny (Byers) to the injury leaves no wiggle room for dropping a score but the guys were all solid today.”
Eastern Florida State College will now turn their attention to the spring championship season.
