BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – As the crisp air of December settles over Titusville, anticipation begins to build for one of the most beloved traditions in Brevard County: the annual Gift of Light event at Parrish Medical Center.
In its 30th year, this free, family-friendly celebration of the season promises to bring joy, healing, and connection to all who attend, continuing the legacy of community unity that has defined the event since its inception.
The Gift of Light is not just a holiday celebration; it is a testament to the values that drive Parrish Medical Center’s mission.
Each year, thousands of families gather to enjoy a night full of holiday magic, from the twinkling lights of a towering 50-foot Christmas tree to the warmth of shared experiences with loved ones.

As Natalie Sellers, MS, APR, LSSGB, FACHE, Senior Vice President of Parrish Healthcare Communications, Community & Corporate Services, and Executive Director of Jess Parrish Medical Foundation, states, “For more than 30 years, our annual Gift of Light celebration has brought generations together to celebrate the joys of the season and the generosity of our community.”
This year’s event is especially poignant, as it serves as a healing experience for the families of Brevard County. Aligned with Parrish Medical Center’s guiding mission, Healing Experiences for Everyone All the Time, the Gift of Light is a moment for the community to gather, reflect, and find joy.
It echoes the center’s vision-Healing Families-Healing Communities- offering not only a celebration but also a chance for healing through the collective spirit of togetherness.

Local students and community groups fill the air with festive music. The Titusville High School Chamber Orchestra, the Astronaut High School Chamber Jazz, the Jackson Middle School Choir, the Keegan Performance Center Competitive Dance Team, and Courageous Kicks Taekwondo each take their turn on stage, showcasing the incredible talents of Brevard’s youth.
Their performances are more than just entertainment; they are a reminder of the bright future of this community, a future rooted in compassion, excellence, and loyalty values that Parrish Medical Center cherishes.

Throughout the night, the spirit of generosity is palpable. For many families, this is the only Christmas celebration they will experience. But thanks to the support of generous donors, community partners, and dedicated care partners at Parrish, the event ensures that no one is left behind.
Santa’s Craft Workshops, hot chocolate stands, cookie decorating stations, face painting booths, and food trucks are all part of the celebration, each offering a little something extra to make the evening memorable.
Every detail, from the smallest ornament on the Christmas tree to the smile on a child’s face, reflects the Integrity and Compassion that define the Parrish Medical Center family.
The Gift of Light is not just a holiday event; it embodies Parrish Medical Center’s core values: Safety, Loyalty, Integrity, Compassion, Excellence, and Stewardship.
As the community comes together, these values guide every interaction and every experience of the evening. For Parrish, this event is more than a tradition; it is a living example of their commitment to the community they serve.

As the evening draws to a close, the event’s message lingers in the hearts of all who attended: In Brevard County, we are a community that values connection, healing, and the well-being of one another. The Gift of Light is a shining example of what can happen when we come together, united by a common purpose-bringing joy, healing, and hope to those who need it most.

“We are grateful to our community for their support,” says Natalie Sellers. “For every Care Partner, every volunteer, and every community partner who makes this holiday tradition possible, we say thank you. Together, we make a difference.”
The evening’s activities unfold with excitement and wonder. Santa and Mrs. Claus are always the stars of the show, welcoming children and adults alike to share their holiday wishes. The lighting of the magnificent Christmas tree is a spectacle, its glow signaling the beginning of the festivities.
Families gather around, eager to witness the breathtaking fireworks display, a dazzling finale to an evening filled with joy.
The Gift of Light event is a reminder that, no matter the season, the heart of Brevard County beats strongest when we come together in service, in celebration, and in healing.
