BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard Public Schools (BPS) is celebrating a historic achievement after newly released data from the Florida Department of Education showed the district reached a record-breaking 92.7% graduation rate for the 2024–2025 school year.
The milestone marks the highest graduation rate in BPS history and represents a significant increase from last year’s 89.8%. Brevard’s performance also surpasses Florida’s new statewide record of 92.2%, further solidifying the district’s reputation for academic excellence and student success.
Several schools posted notable gains, led by Brevard Virtual School, which recorded a 12.2% increase.
Bayside High School followed with a 10.1% rise, while Cocoa High School improved by 8.6%. Eau Gallie High School (+6.9%), Astronaut High School (+6.1%), and Palm Bay Magnet High School (+5.3%) also posted strong gains.
Additional schools showing increased graduation rates include Melbourne High School, Heritage High School, Rockledge High School, Cocoa Beach Jr./Sr. High School, Titusville High School, Space Coast Jr./Sr. High School, and Viera High School.
Two schools — West Shore Jr./Sr. High School and Edgewood Jr./Sr. High School — achieved a perfect 100% graduation rate, continuing a long-standing tradition of exceptional academic performance. Merritt Island High School, Satellite High School, and Viera High School also stood out, each posting graduation rates above 98%.
Superintendent Dr. Mark Rendell said the achievement reflects a districtwide effort spanning all grade levels.
“The graduation rate is one of the most powerful indicators of a school district’s success,” Rendell said. “While we often associate it with high schools, it reflects the work of our entire system — from kindergarten through senior year. Every teacher, every school contributed to this achievement, and all should take pride in reaching this historic milestone.”
District leaders credited dedicated educators, supportive families, and engaged students for driving the gains, noting that the results underscore BPS’s ongoing commitment to preparing students for success beyond graduation.
