BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Former Cocoa High School standout Jayvan Boggs has announced he will return to Florida State, ending a brief stint in the NCAA transfer portal and reaffirming his commitment to the Seminoles.
Boggs, one of the most highly regarded football talents to emerge from Brevard County in recent years, entered the transfer portal a couple of weeks ago after completing his first season in Tallahassee.
The move sparked speculation about his future as he explored opportunities that could provide a larger role and more immediate playing time. After weighing his options, Boggs ultimately decided that Florida State remains the best place for his continued development.
A star at Cocoa High School, Boggs helped elevate the Tigers to state prominence with his size, speed, and playmaking ability. He played a pivotal role in leading Cocoa to its third consecutive state championship in 2024, delivering electrifying performances that made him one of the top wide receivers in the nation. His combination of precise route running, reliable hands, and explosive speed cemented his legacy as one of the premier players to come out of the storied Cocoa program.
Boggs arrived at Florida State with high expectations and was viewed as a key addition to the Seminoles’ receiving corps as the program pushed back toward national contention. While his on-field opportunities were limited during his first season amid a deep and competitive wide receiver room, he showed flashes of his potential during practices and game appearances.
During his first official press conference at Florida State, Boggs expressed gratitude for the opportunity to compete at the collegiate level and reflected on his journey from high school stardom in Cocoa to an ACC powerhouse. That sense of appreciation, along with continued belief in the program, factored into his decision to stay in Tallahassee.
As he moves forward with the Seminoles, Boggs carries with him the pride of Cocoa and the support of a community known for producing elite football talent. Fans of both Cocoa High School and Florida State will be watching closely as he looks to carve out a larger role and make a lasting impact in garnet and gold.
