Titusville Police Department responded to the 400 block of Main Street On Saturday January 10 at 9:40 a.m. after receiving reports of graffiti related vandalism to multiple properties that occurred between the overnight hours of January 9 – 10.

As officers began to investigate, more businesses owners and employees in the downtown area of Titusville began arriving for work and noticing the graffiti related vandalism on their respective properties.

Multiple businesses were tagged with graffiti that read “roselovenevergiveup” “roselove88” “rose” and other various tags.

One business in the 300 block of S Washington Avenue was equipped with surveillance cameras that captured the suspect, described as a middle age white female wearing a dark jacket with what appeared to be red hooded jacket, camouflage pants and black shoes.

Working with the community and the available surveillance footage, officers were available to identify the suspect as Helenrose Daisy Moreno, age 28, a transient person with ties to Miami and California.

On January 10, around 3 p.m., officers located Moreno near the Titus Landings shopping plaza. Moreno was holding a black jacket and a red hooded jacket and a backpack that was similar in the surveillance video. Also located on her was a distinct specialty chisel wide tip sharpie, which appeared to match the graffiti located on the businesses in the downtown area.

Probable cause was established for Moreno’s arrest, and she was placed into custody and was transferred to the Brevard County Detention Center.

Helenrose Daisy Moreno is being charged with the following:

• Multiple Counts of Criminal Mischief on Religious Building
• Multiple Counts of Felony Criminal Mischief
• Multiple Counts of Misdemeanor Criminal Mischief

Moreno is being held at the Brevard County Detention Center under a $18,500.00 bond status

It is suspected Moreno is responsible for over twelve documented incidents of graffiti related vandalism and more charges are expected.

“This case is a great example of how teamwork between the Titusville Police Department and our community leads to real results,” said Detective Sergeant Lauren Watson. “We are grateful to the businesses that have invested in surveillance cameras and willingly shared footage, which played a critical role in identifying the suspect.
