BREVARD COUNTY • MIMS, FLORIDA — Florida Highway Patrol Troopers reported that a fatal motorcycle crash on Interstate 95 in Brevard County claimed the lives of a man and a woman on Friday afternoon.
The crash occurred at approximately 4:17 p.m. on January 23, 2026, along I-95 southbound near mile marker 232 in North Brevard County.
Troopers identified the vehicle as a 2011 Harley-Davidson motorcycle traveling southbound when, for reasons still under investigation, the rider ran off the roadway to the right, entered the outside shoulder, and continued into the wooded area.
As a result of the crash, both the rider and the passenger were ejected from the motorcycle.
The driver, a 72-year-old man from Edgewater, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The passenger, a 59-year-old woman from Port Orange, was transported to HCA Lake Monroe Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Investigators reported that both occupants were wearing helmets at the time of the crash. Next of kin have been notified.
The incident is under investigation, and authorities have not released the victims’ names pending family notification.
