Florida Tech to Host Space Force Leader for Free Public Lecture on Innovation

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA — Florida Institute of Technology is inviting the Space Coast community to campus for a timely discussion on the future of U.S. space operations as part of the 2026 F. Alan Smith Distinguished Lecture Series.
Maj. Gen. Timothy Sejba, a former commander of Space Training and Readiness Command (STARCOM) and current Special Assistant to the Vice Chief of Space Operations, will present “Three Waves of Space Force-Led Innovation: Transportation To, In, and From Space.”
The free, public event is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 19, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Gleason Performing Arts Center on Florida Tech’s Melbourne campus.
His talk will examine how the U.S. Space Force is driving innovation across launch, on-orbit operations, and return capabilities—areas increasingly critical to national security, commercial spaceflight, and scientific advancement.
The lecture will be followed by a question-and-answer session, offering attendees an opportunity to engage directly with one of the Space Force’s senior leaders.
