BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – Dog lovers and beachgoers are preparing for one of Brevard County’s most unique spring traditions as the Brevard Humane Society hosts the 14th Annual East Coast Dog Surfing Festival at Lori Wilson Park on Easter Sunday, April 5.

The family friendly event will run from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. and is expected to draw crowds eager to watch dogs ride the waves, compete in contests, and show off their personalities along the shoreline of Cocoa Beach.

One of the most anticipated activities during the festival is the Easter Outfit Contest, where dogs will parade in creative spring themed costumes. From bunny ears to elaborate holiday inspired outfits, the contest invites pet owners to dress their dogs in their most festive looks for a chance to entertain the crowd and celebrate the holiday spirit.

Throughout the day, the festival will feature a variety of activities including the popular dog surfing championships scheduled for noon. Earlier in the morning, dogs can participate in the Bunny Paddle Out at 9 a.m., followed by the Easter Outfit Contest at 10 a.m. Another crowd favorite, the Doggy Bikini Contest, is planned for 1:30 p.m.

Visitors will also find live music, vendors, and opportunities for dogs to try surfing themselves. Introductory dog surfing lessons will be available between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. for pets looking to test their skills on the water.

Dogs attending the festival must be registered for beach access, and owners are required to provide proof of vaccinations in accordance with Brevard County regulations.

The weekend celebration will begin the day before the festival with Wags and Waves, a pre event gathering from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on April 4 at Cocoa Beach Fish Camp Grill, where attendees can meet some of the surfing dogs ahead of the big competition.

With thousands of dollars in prizes and plenty of beachside entertainment, organizers say the festival promises a full day of surf, sand, and unforgettable moments as dogs take center stage on the waves.
