Dr. Sandy Handfield, Eastern Florida State College’s Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs, has been named the 2026 Distinguished Alumni Award recipient, in recognition of more than five decades of service to the college and its broader community.
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — Dr. Sandy Handfield, Eastern Florida State College Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs, has been named the 2026 Distinguished Alumni Award recipient, recognizing more than five decades of service to the college and its broader community.
Eastern Florida State College officials cited Handfield’s 55 years of dedication to advancing academic excellence and supporting generations of students, faculty, and staff.
“Her contributions have played a key role in shaping the institution’s growth and its continued impact across the region,” said EFSC President Dr. Jim Richey.
As AVP of Academic Affairs, Handfield has been instrumental in overseeing academic programs, supporting curriculum development, and guiding strategic initiatives to enhance student success.
Throughout her tenure, she has been widely recognized for her commitment to education and her leadership within the college’s “Titan” community.
