Six-year Satellite Beach Police veteran and current Deputy Chief Ronnie Kinsey has been named Satellite Beach Chief of Police. He joined the Satellite Beach Police in 2020 as a Patrol Officer, bringing with him extensive law enforcement experience.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Six-year Satellite Beach Police veteran and current Deputy Chief Ronnie Kinsey has been named Satellite Beach Chief of Police.

Kinsey joined the Satellite Beach Police force in 2020 as a Patrol Officer, bringing with him extensive law enforcement experience.

Throughout his career, Kinsey has accumulated nearly 3,000 hours of law enforcement training, with expertise in DUI and impaired driving investigations, Internal Affairs, advanced criminal procedures, and leadership supervision.

During his career, he served in several specialized units, including Uniform Patrol, Traffic and Motor Vehicle Crash Investigations, H.E.A.T., and Criminal Investigations.

“His leadership and dedication earned recognition in Satellite Beach, leading to his promotion to Patrol Lieutenant in 2022,” said a Satellite Beach Police spokesperson.

“In that role, he oversaw all aspects of the Patrol Division and was later promoted to Deputy Chief in 2025, serving under and being mentored by retired Chief Brad Hodge.”

Kinsey holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Clayton State University and a Master of Divinity from Liberty University.

He is also a 2024 graduate of the University of Louisville Southern Police Institute Command Officer’s Development Course and completed the prestigious 295th Session of the FBI National Academy.

Chief Kinsey joined the Satellite Beach Police in 2020 as a Patrol Officer, bringing with him extensive law enforcement experience.

The Satellite Beach Police Department currently has 25 officers assigned to the Uniformed Patrol Division.

The Patrol Division has numerous responsibilities, including responding to calls for service, traffic enforcement, accident investigation, special events security, and crime prevention through high-visibility patrols.

The Satellite Beach Police Department emphasizes the philosophy of community-oriented policing.

Community-Oriented Policing is the concept in which police and citizens work together to identify and resolve community problems.
