One person was killed Friday night in a two-vehicle crash near Wickham Road and Capron Trail in Suntree, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
BREVARD COUNTY • SUNTREE, FLORIDA — One person was killed Friday night in a two-vehicle crash near North Wickham Road and Capron Trail in Suntree, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash, involving a 2019 Honda Insight and a 2023 Toyota Tacoma, occurred shortly after 8 p.m.
According to FHP, the Honda Insight was traveling southbound as it exited a parking lot on North Wickham Road. The Toyota Tacoma was traveling eastbound on North Wickham Road in the inside lane as it approached Capron Trail.
The driver of the Honda attempted to turn left to travel eastbound on North Wickham Road and entered the direct path of the Tacoma, investigators said. The front of the Tacoma then struck the right side of the Honda.
Authorities identified the deceased as a 42-year-old Melbourne woman who was driving the Honda. Two 20-year-old men—one from Rockledge and the other from Melbourne—suffered minor injuries and were inside the Toyota, according to FHP.
Wickham Road was closed in the southbound direction while personnel from the Florida Highway Patrol and Brevard County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
