Fans Support Owner's Stance On Keeping Redskins Name
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — Space Coast Daily readers voted against the Washington Redskins being forced to change their name by the federal government.
In a reader poll posted on Facebook, 98.05 percent of 256 readers polled said that the Redskins shouldn’t be forced to change their team name.
Earlier this month, the U.S. Patent Office removed the trademark for “Redskins,”, which would result in the team losing licensing rights to team merchandising.
Redskins’ owner Daniel Snyder has appealed the patent office’s decision and has vowed to keep the team name.
