BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Fran Cosmo, former lead singer of the band Boston, rocked Mike and Stephanie Haridopolos’ backyard on Saturday night to benefit single mothers fighting breast cancer.
More than 200 guests enjoyed a wonderful fundraiser party at the beautiful home of Dr. Stephanie and Mike Haridopolos in Windover Farms, Melbourne. Local Brevard popular singer, Janna Ivey, opened the evening, with a very entertaining performance of her favorite songs.
Her father, Sheriff Wayne Ivey, then skillfully acted as auctioneer for the live auction, raising over $14,000 donated by the generous guests, for a wide variety of fine art and other valuable items. Chris and Kris Romandetti of First Choice Medical Group in Melbourne, bid on and successfully purchased a painting, donating $1,400. “We are pleased to help this great cause,” said Chris Romandetti.
From the main stage, host Mike Haridopolos thanked the party guests and introduced Boston former lead singer Fran Cosmo and his talented band.
“We love our community and what better way to help a wonderful cause – incredible music with friends in our backyard,” said Haridopolos.
“We are grateful for everyone being so supportive,” said Haridopolos.
Cosmo and his band performed flawlessly and rocked the concert with all the great hits from Boston, which the guests absolutely loved.
“What an awesome party and concert,” said Shay Rowe, owner of the
local Mercedes Benz Auto dealership, who was a major sponsor of the event.
“This is a wonderful party for a very worthwhile cause.”
“We have been so blessed to have such terrific support from our community for this party,” said Dr. Stephanie Haridopolos.
“We will have a lot of important funds raised for the single moms with Cancer thanks to our volunteers, our guests and our amazing sponsors.”
When the dynamic and caring couple decided to host a party at their home to benefit Hope for a Single Mom, they opted for a party to end all parties.
The grassroots organization helps single mothers fight breast cancer by providing financial support to help them keep a roof over their heads and food on the table during their battle against cancer.
In true Haridopolos style, Saturday’s event was not a tepid affair with somebody’s friend’s band headlining. Instead, Cosmo, former lead singer of the band Boston, brought other original band members to sing in the Haridopolos’ backyard.
Rodizio Grill donated delicious food and beverages for the party.
A total of $45,480 was generated from the event after expenses and will go directly to local single mothers battling breast cancer while raising their children.
Haridopolos knows personally how tough it can be to be a single mom. She is also a victim of domestic violence who carefully plotted her family’s escape strategy.
