BREVARD COUNTY • ROCKLEDGE, FLORIDA – Located at the north end of Cogswell Street within the McKnight Family Sports Complex, the recreational trail that is being installed around the Barton Lake Retention Facility is approximately 75 percent complete.
A new steel bridge, which spans over the outfall weir was affixed this past Friday, Dec. 11. Ideal for walkers, runners and cyclists, the 12-foot-wide trail will be just over 2.3 miles long.
Barring any unforeseen circumstances, completion of the entire trail is projected for mid-March 2016.
A hearty Rockledge thank-you to Planning Director Don Griffin and City Planner Alix Bernard for their efforts in making this project come to fruition.
And thanks also to our Public Works Department for their help in the actual construction of the trail.
