BREVARD COUNTY • CAPE CANAVERAL, FLORIDA — Space Coast Daily’s Beth York and Zach Clark hosted red carpet interviews at the prestigious Radisson Resort at the Port in Cape Canaveral for the Annual ABC Awards, which highlights the outstanding educators of Brevard County.
This grand event serves as a tribute to the teachers who dedicate their lives to shaping the future, fostering learning, and inspiring students to reach new heights.
The event features engaging conversations that shed light on the dedication, passion, and remarkable stories of this year’s six finalists for Teacher of the Year. These educators exemplify the profound impact of great teaching within the community, consistently going above and beyond to nurture the next generation of leaders and innovators.
In addition to recognizing individual achievements, the ABC Awards celebrate the collective support systems that enable educators to thrive. From school administrators and fellow teachers to parents and community leaders, the event acknowledges the collaborative efforts essential for elevating education in Brevard County.
With the glamour of the red carpet, the excitement of the awards, and the inspiring stories of educators making a difference, the Annual ABC Awards serve as a powerful reminder of the importance of education and the individuals who make it possible. This year’s six Teacher of the Year finalists include:

● Janean Knight, Psychological Services
● Laura Negi, Sabal Elementary School
● Lindsey Andryc, Saturn Elementary School
Sponsored by Community Credit Union, this year’s gala will highlight 94 Teacher of the Year honorees from Brevard Public Schools. Over 400 guests, including school board members, foundation board members, and the 94 honorees, are expected to attend.
The evening honors educators who have demonstrated exceptional skill and dedication, with one winner advancing to represent Brevard Public Schools in the Florida Teacher of the Year program.
The gala features speeches including Janice Kershaw, President/CEO of Brevard Schools Foundation; Rich Miller, Chair of the Foundation’s Board of Directors; Gene Trent, Chair of the Brevard Public School Board; and Dr. Mark Rendell, Superintendent of Brevard Public Schools.
Deborah Price, the 2023-2024 Teacher of the Year, and Community Credit Union Florida representatives will also address the audience.
