BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA — A Florida East Coast Railway train struck a semi-truck that became disabled on the tracks near Lake Washington Thursday morning, according to the Melbourne Police Department.

The crash occurred at 9:01 a.m. as the northbound train traveled through the area. Police said the truck’s operator exited the vehicle and moved to safety after the crossing arms lowered, signaling the train’s imminent arrival.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

The department’s Traffic Enforcement Unit is investigating the crash. Anyone with information is asked to contact Traffic Investigator Officer Grohman at 321-616-5809.
