BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued an alert for developing rain and storms across east-central Florida this afternoon and early evening, with the highest storm coverage expected from Orlando to Titusville and areas north.

Storms are forecast to move east-northeast, bringing several potential hazards, including gusty winds of 45–55 mph, with a 5% chance for gusts exceeding 60 mph, Frequent lightning, Torrential rainfall.

A very low tornado threat could mainly be confined close to the coast.

Although isolated storms may develop farther south, the primary focus remains on northern portions of the region of Brevard County
