BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a Special Weather Statement for parts of northern Brevard County, warning residents to prepare for potentially hazardous conditions through 6:30 p.m. EDT on Wednesday.

The alert, which includes the communities of Maytown, Scottsmoor, Turnbull, and Mims, highlights the possibility of strong wind gusts up to 55 MPH and penny-sized hail as a storm system moves through the region.

These conditions could cause minor property damage and pose a risk to anyone caught outdoors.

Residents in the affected area are urged to seek shelter in a sturdy structure until the storm passes. Loose outdoor objects should be secured, and drivers are advised to use caution on the roads due to sudden wind gusts or low visibility from heavy rain.

While this is not a severe thunderstorm warning, the potential impacts are significant enough to warrant precautions.

The Canaveral National Seashore and surrounding inland communities may also experience brief periods of intense weather activity.
