West Melbourne to Adopt Water Utility Fee Changes, Public Hearing Set For August 14

The Melbourne-Tillman Water Control District has announced that its Board of Directors has tentatively adopted a budget for the 2025 to 2026 fiscal year. As part of the proposal, new user fee rates have been recommended.

BREVARD COUNTY • WEST MELBOURNE, FLORIDA — The Melbourne-Tillman Water Control District has announced that its Board of Directors has tentatively adopted a budget for the 2025 to 2026 fiscal year. As part of the proposal, new user fee rates have been recommended.

The residential rate is set at $25 per acre or portion thereof, the agricultural rate at $8.50 per acre or portion thereof, and the commercial rate at $52.50 per acre or portion thereof. These fees are established under Florida Laws Chapter 01-336, as amended by Chapter 03-334.

A public hearing to address the proposed user fee rates will take place on Thursday, August 14, at 5:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at the West Melbourne Council Chambers located at 2285 Minton Road, West Melbourne. The Brevard County Board of Commissioners will preside over the proceedings.

Residents and interested parties are advised that any appeals of decisions made during the meeting will require a record of the proceedings, including testimony and evidence presented. The notice specifies that the District does not consent to the inclusion of inadmissible or irrelevant evidence and does not authorize appeals beyond what is allowed by law.
