Sherwood Park Softball Field in Melbourne Will Close During September to Have Musco Lighting Installed

Softball field to reopen in early October

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA — The City of Melbourne announced that the softball field at Sherwood Park will be closed for approximately one month beginning Tuesday, September 2.

The closure is necessary to allow for the installation of new Musco lighting, which will enhance evening play and improve overall visibility at the field.

City officials emphasized that the closure is temporary and part of ongoing efforts to maintain and upgrade the community’s recreational facilities.

The new lighting system is expected to provide a safer and more enjoyable environment for players and spectators upon completion of the project.

The softball field is anticipated to reopen in early October, following the completion of the installation.

Sherwood Park is located near Wickham Forrest, off Croton Road in Melbourne.
