Eastern Florida State College Cross Country Teams Have Solid Outings

Titans will compete in Pre-Region Meet Sept. 26

The Eastern Florida State College men’s cross country team opened the season Friday morning at the Southern Showcase at the John Hunt Cross Country Running Park in Huntsville, Alabama.

BREVARD COUNTY • FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College men’s cross country team opened the season Friday morning at the Southern Showcase at the John Hunt Cross Country Running Park in Huntsville, Alabama.

The Titans ran against NCAA Division I and Division II programs and finished 46th overall as a team. The University of Alabama won the meet.

Freshman Jaiden McKee led the Titans, finishing the 8K race in 27 minutes, 56.1 seconds and finished 368nd overall. Teammate Wyatt Pittman ran in 28:31.1 which was 395th best.

Morgan Vici started out his sophomore season with a 28:41.2 run while Joshua Torres finished in 29:37.4 and Wenn Gilbertson crossed in 30:00.4. Noah McMann was 28 seconds behind Gilbertson, finishing in 30:28.1. Toby Grisson (31:08.8), Mike Quint (34:52.2) and Gabe Nix (34:55.3) all finished in the top 450..

The Eastern Florida State College women’s cross country finished 47th overall in the Southern Showcase Friday morning at the John Hunt Cross Country Running Park in Huntsville, Alabama.

Competing against NCAA Division I and Division II teams, the Titans opened the season with a solid performance. Eastern Florida State College was led by sophomore Rori Pandolfini, who finished 376th overall. Pandolfini finished the 5K in 20 minutes, 54.9 seconds.

Teammate Malinda Underwood finished in 21:07.1 and finished 387th while Aubrey Orcutt rounded out the EFSC top runners as Orcutt finished in 21:27.2.

Ember Michaels finished 452nd with a time of 23:30.6 with teammates Maddy Lusk (24:29.5), Abigail Derisme (25:06.7), Kyla Waymire (25:20.3) and Liz Morales (26:33.4) all running in the season-opening event.

Eastern Florida State College will compete in the Pre-Region Meet on September 26 in Tallahassee.
