ORLANDO, FLORIDA – The UCF Knights came up just short in a gritty Big 12 showdown Saturday night, falling to the Kansas Jayhawks 27-20 at The Bounce House.

Despite a strong ground performance from running back Myles Montgomery, who rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns, the Knights couldn’t overcome a sluggish passing attack and missed opportunities down the stretch.

The UCF Knights came up just short in a gritty Big 12 showdown Saturday night, falling to the Kansas Jayhawks 27-20 at The Bounce House.

Quarterback Tayven Jackson struggled to get the offense in rhythm through the air, completing just 97 yards passing on the night. Kansas capitalized on UCF’s limited aerial threat by stacking the box and forcing key third-down stops in the second half.

Montgomery kept UCF within striking distance with touchdown runs in both halves, including a 35-yard burst early in the third quarter that cut the Kansas lead to three. But the Knights were unable to find the end zone in the fourth quarter, and a missed fourth-down conversion with under two minutes remaining sealed their fate.

The loss drops UCF to 3-2 on the season and 0-2 in Big 12 play. Kansas, meanwhile, improves to 4-2 overall and 2-1 in conference action.
