BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Former Cocoa High School star wide receiver Jayvan Boggs has entered the NCAA transfer portal after completing his first season at Florida State, opening a new chapter in what remains one of the more promising careers to come out of Brevard County in recent years.
Boggs, who helped lead the Cocoa Tigers to state prominence with his size, speed, and playmaking ability, arrived in Tallahassee with high expectations. Known for his reliable hands and ability to stretch the field, he was considered a key addition to Florida State’s receiving corps as the Seminoles continued their push back into national contention.
Although Boggs showed flashes of his potential during practices and limited game opportunities, competition in the Seminoles’ deep receiver room and shifting offensive roles led him to explore options that may offer more immediate playing time and a bigger role.
Boggs, who made a name for himself at Cocoa High School with his electrifying performances, played a crucial role in leading the Tigers to their third straight state championship in 2024.
His combination of speed, route-running precision, and sure-handed catches earned him recognition as one of the top wide receivers in the country.
With a standout senior season, he cemented his legacy as one of the premier talents to come out of the storied Cocoa program.
During his first official press conference at Florida State, Boggs expressed gratitude for the opportunity to compete at the next level while reflecting on his journey from high school stardom to the ACC powerhouse.
As he embarks on his collegiate career, Boggs carries with him the pride of Cocoa, Florida, and the support of the Tigers community, which has long been known for producing top-tier football talent.
Fans of both Cocoa High School and Florida State will be keeping a close eye on his development as he looks to make an impact for the Seminoles.
