Precautionary Boil Water Notice Issued for Northwest Palm Bay Following Water Main Break

Palm Bay city officials have issued a Precautionary Boil Water Notice for parts of northwest Palm Bay after a water main break on Friday morning caused service interruptions and low water pressure for hundreds of customers.

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA — Palm Bay city officials have issued a Precautionary Boil Water Notice for parts of northwest Palm Bay after a water main break caused service interruptions and low water pressure for hundreds of customers Friday morning.

According to the City of Palm Bay, the water main break occurred earlier in the day, with service disruption reported at approximately 11:10 a.m. An estimated 761 customers were affected.

City crews responded promptly, and full water service is expected to be restored by the end of the day.

As a safety measure, the Palm Bay Utilities Department is advising residents and businesses in the impacted area to boil all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes. Officials say a rolling boil for at least one minute is sufficient to ensure safety.

Bottled water may also be used as an alternative during the advisory period.

The precautionary notice applies to customers located at the following addresses in the northwest section of the city:

Affected areas include portions of Heartwellville Street NW, Gillmar Avenue NW, Glenridge Street NW, Cyclone Street NW, Hays Street NW, Delhaven Avenue NW, Hawksbill Street NW, Delano Avenue NW, Delaware Street NW, Gladys Avenue NW, Delki Street NW, Hazelton Street NW, Pace Drive NW, Glendale Avenue NW, Manzanita Street NW, Healey Street NW, Lombard Street NW, Globe Avenue NW, Reed Street NW, Giles Street NW, Starboard Street NW, and Glencove Avenue NW, all within the 32907 ZIP code.

City officials emphasized that the notice is being issued out of an abundance of caution. The boil water advisory will remain in effect until repairs are fully completed and a bacteriological survey confirms the water meets all safety standards. Typically, precautionary boil water notices last between two and three days.

Affected customers will be notified once testing is complete and the notice has been lifted.
