Eastern Florida State College Names Bart Sasnett as Men’s Soccer Coach

Sasnett takes over for Adam Butler, who led the Titans to the national tournament twice

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Eastern Florida State College has announced Bart Sasnett as the next head coach of the men’s soccer program.

Sasnett takes over for Adam Butler, who led the Titans to the national tournament twice and won 34 games in three seasons.

“The opportunity came up, and Eastern Florida has always been a place I wanted to coach. Jeff Carr is a phenomenal person and athletic director, and to have the opportunity to come here and get back to junior college soccer is a dream,” Sasnett said. “The region is no doubt the toughest in soccer. I am familiar with it; it has always been very good and remains very good. I spent over 20 years in junior college and am really excited to be back.”

The Fort Walton Beach native comes to Eastern Florida State College after three successful years as the Assistant Athletic Director and Director of Soccer at Rabun Gap Nacoochee, winning two state championships (2023, 2024) in the 4A North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association.

“I played at a JUCO school, and I think a lot of the life lessons I learned, and my development as a player started there. Junior college is very special, giving student-athletes the opportunity to come in right away and play. I love it. I love teaching, developing, and the opportunity to impact them and help them move on in their careers,” Sasnett said.

 

Sasnett has over 200 wins in junior college men’s soccer and returns to Region 8 Soccer after leading Daytona State College for seven seasons, winning 91 games, and taking the Falcons to the NJCAA National Tournament four times.

After playing and coaching at Andrew College, Sasnett moved to Darton State College, where he won 123 games over nine seasons and appeared in the national tournament three times.

He is 245-90-16 in 19 seasons as a junior college men’s soccer coach and brings that experience to Eastern Florida State College, which went 12-4-1 last season, making it to the NJCAA Division I National Tournament for the second straight season.

“It has been great so far. We have a strong recruiting class coming in and a strong group coming back. They had a good season last year, and so I am excited,” Sasnett said.

“Every team is different, and although I didn’t recruit the guys here, my hope is that they buy into my philosophy and we can progress together.”

The men’s soccer team will play some exhibition games during the spring before beginning the new season in August.
