BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Cold weather shelters have opened across Brevard County for Monday, February 23, as local agencies responded to forecasts calling for low overnight temperatures.

The Titusville Fire Department shared information highlighting the availability of shelters in Titusville, Cocoa, and Melbourne. The coordinated effort comes as community partners work together to provide safe, warm accommodations for residents in need.

Shelter locations include LifePointe Ministries in Titusville, the Sharing Center of Central Brevard in Cocoa, Matthew’s Hope in Cocoa, and Providence Connects at Melbourne First Church of the Nazarene in Melbourne.

The shelters are offering evening accommodations, with several locations also providing dinner and breakfast to guests.

Brevard County Emergency Management noted that the decision to open shelters was based on the latest forecast from the National Weather Service in Melbourne.

Officials emphasized the importance of ensuring vulnerable residents have access to warm shelter during colder conditions.

Local authorities encourage residents who may need assistance or who know someone in need of shelter to take advantage of these resources.

Updates regarding shelter operations and weather conditions are expected to be shared through official county and agency channels.
