A U.S. Coast Guard Station Miami Beach boat crew rescued three mariners, Friday, after their vessel began taking on water in the vicinity of Virginia Key.

“All three mariners were wearing life jackets, which played a critical role in keeping them safe,” said Petty Officer 2nd Class Kyle Consford, a Station Miami Beach boat crew member. “We want to remind boaters to always check local weather conditions before heading out on the water. Even short trips can become dangerous if storms develop unexpectedly.”
