The program opens with theHebrides Overture, a work conceived by Mendelssohn’s Scottish trip and his visit to Fingal’s Cave, which inspired his musical representation of the eerie sounds produced by the echoes of waves. Few pieces in the history of music have achieved the iconic power and reputation of Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony.

This is Beethoven at his best – the ultimate Fifth Symphony is one of the most popular and well known pieces in classical music. For more than 200 years, this symphony has shown us that music has the power to transform the way we live and think.

Also on the program is Sibelius’ patriotic and rousing, Karelia Suite.

This is a wonderful experience for the whole family and children 18 and under will be admitted free.
