BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Tyrel Rogers, 20, and Tyrone Rogers, 25, have been arrested and charged with sexual battery for participating in an alleged gang rape of a woman on Sept. 25, according to the Cocoa Police Department.
According to Cocoa Police Public Information Officer Barbara Matthews, there are three additional suspects that took part in the gang rape, and police expected to make additional arrests soon.
According to police reports, the victim made plans by phone to be picked up by a man known to her as “Tyshawn,” who then picked up the victim with another man. Once the victim got in the back seat of the car, she was told they would be stopping at a friend’s house in Cocoa.
The victim said the three drove to a house near Fern Avenue and Fiske Boulevard in Cocoa where another man answered the door.
She was left alone in the house and used the bathroom. Upon coming out of the bathroom, the lights inside the house had been turned off and the victim said that she was then grabbed by several men and “forcefully thrown onto the bed,” and forced to remove some of her clothing.
According to police documents, the victim said that she counted five black males in the room who took turns forcing her to perform sexual acts. She also said that at the time of the incident, she did not consent to any sexual act with any of the five men. The victim said that because force was used, she was in fear that serious personal injury would be done to her if she did not comply.
The victim stated that she knew Tyshawn was one of the males in the room because she recognized his voice, and she was able to identify him by his hair, which was in long dreads at the time of the incident.
