BREVARD COUNTY • VIERA, FLORIDA – The Avenue Viera hosted the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K Saturday morning. The walk raises awareness and funds to save lives from breast cancer.

This noncompetitive walk brings people together to make a difference for everyone who has been touched by breast cancer.

The event raises money to fund innovative research, provide free information and support, and to help people reduce their breast cancer risk or find it early when it’s most treatable.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks unite communities behind the American Cancer Society’s efforts to save lives from breast cancer.

The Opening Ceremony began at 8 a.m. as survivors, caregivers, men and women from all walks of life came together who are passionate about saving lives from breast cancer.

Everyone celebrates their shared efforts and inspire each other to carry on – and take comfort in the knowledge that because of your dedication, no one walks alone.

The survivor area was a special area for survivors and the caregivers attending with them.

“We include both survivors and caregivers to make sure everyone is as comfortable as possible,” said event organizers.
