Palm Bay Fire Rescue Saves Woman During Apartment Blaze at Malabar Cove

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Palm Bay Fire Rescue units responded to reports Friday of an apartment unit on fire on Daffodil Drive SE, in the Malabar Cove apartment complex.
According to Palm Bay Fire Rescue, a female burn victim was transported to a local facility for care.
“The crews were able to save a burn victim from the fire, helping her to safety outside of the unit,” said Palm Bay Fire Rescue officials.
“Sprinklers were activated inside the apartment, but crews still made entry to extinguish the rest of the fire, encountering heavy smoke conditions along the way.”
No fire extension was noted in adjacent units due to the quick stop by Palm Bay Fire Rescue.
Currently, no information has been released on the circumstances of the fire or amount of damage sustained to the apartment unit.
