Longtime Brevard Teacher Patricia Freeman Dies

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Friends gathered to celebrate the life of Patricia S. Freeman, 68, of Titusville, who passed away Thursday, February 23, 2012.

Born February 24, 1943, in Wauchula, Florida, her parents were the late Franklin Lamar and Elizabeth May Freeman.

In 1961, Patricia graduated from Mulberry High School, and from Florida State University with both a bachelor’s degree in 1965 and a master’s degree in 1970.

Patricia was a teacher in Brevard County Public Schools for 39 years, retiring from Astronaut High School.  A master word crafter with a deep knowledge of the humanities, she influenced generations of  young people teaching language arts, humanities, English as a Second Language and French.

As a minister, notary public, and leader in teachers’ unions, she helped many. She was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority.

Survivors include her brother Alexander Freeman, II; and many friends.

Her Celebration of Life was held on March 1, 2012, at Temple Baptist Church. Arrangements were by North Brevard Funeral Home in Titusville.
