BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA — Margie Sowell Clark, 89, formerly of Melbourne, died Thursday, May 17, 2012 at Scotia Village in Laurenburg, North Carolina.
She was born December 29, 1922 in Hamlet, North Carolina a daughter of the late, Belton Thomas and Daisy Pitts Sowell.
Mrs. Clark graduated from Hamlet High School.
She retired from Civil Service.
Mrs. Clark was a member of Melbourne Church of Christ.
Calling Hours will be Sunday, May 20th from 3:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. at the Brownlie – Maxwell Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be conducted at Florida National Cemetery on Monday at 1:00 p.m.
Surviving are a nephew, Alan Sowell and his wife, Jackie of Cary, North Carolina; and their children, Michael and Rebecca Sowell both of the home; a niece, Kathy Sowell Larimore and her fiancé, Eddie Webb of Rockingham, North Carolina; and her children, Ricky and Chris Moore both of Mt. Gilead, North Carolina and Justin Larimore of Hamlet, North Carolina ; four sister-in-laws, Peggy Sowell Harrington of Hamlet, North Carolina , Aliene C. Johnson of Bushnell, Florida, Virginia Clark of Bumpus Mills, Tennessee, and Eva C. Byrd, Oakridge, Tennessee; and a brother-in-law, Sid Clark of Bumpus Mills, Tenessee.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hargis F. Clark; and a brother, Joe T. Sowell.
