Governor Reappoints Bournique To St. Johns River Board

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Gov. Rick Scott has reappointed Doug Bournique to the governing board of the St. Johns River Water Management District.

Bournique will serve a four-year term.

He has been a St. Johns River Water Management District.board member since April 2008 and has been very engaged in identifying creative solutions to water supply challenges.

He is the executive vice president of the Indian River Citrus League and has been a champion of the district’s restoration of the headwaters of the St. Johns River and protection initiatives for many decades.

The nine-member St. Johns River Water Management District governing board sets policies for operation of the district.

Board members hold monthly public meetings and serve without compensation.

The Florida Senate must confirm Bournique’s reappointment.
