Cocoa Tigers Host Pop Warner Jamboree

Regular Season Opens Saturday

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – The Cocoa Tigers youth football program kicked off the 2012 Pop Warner season with a jamboree of scrimmage games last Saturday at Stradley Park in Cocoa.

Cocoa Tigers Pop Warner President Tim Lennear said that the program has received strong support from volunteers and local businesses, as well as the area grade schools, local middle schools, Cocoa High School and the Brevard County Parks and Recreation Department.

Rae Kameka, who serves as Cocoa Tigers Pop Warner commisioner, said that there are 235 football players and cheerleaders in the Cocoa program this year, an increase from 185 participants in 2011.

Kameka praised Tigers coaches for doing a terrific job in 2012 with the players and cheerleaders.

Cocoa hosts Ormond Beach in a series of division games starting at 9 a.m Saturday at Stradley Park to open the regular Pop Warner youth football season.
