BREVARD COUNTY • VIERA, FLORIDA – Fund raising for local needy cancer patients will once again be the purpose for Space Coast Cancer Foundation’s sixth annual Daffodil Gala, set for the evening of Saturday, Aug. 18 at the Holiday Inn in Viera. The Gala, which will include a silent auction and dinner, will start at 7 p.m.

This event, which will be presented by Vitas Innovative Hospice Care, will be filled with delectable cuisine, dancing, a silent auction, and Island inspired entertainment for all guests – as well as the rewarding feeling knowing that you are supporting people in our community whose lives have been affected by cancer.

Suntrust Bank, Brevard Physicians Network and Sego’s Home Medical Equipment have also announced that they are joining the event as “Pacific Rim” Sponsors.

The proceeds from sponsorships and donations to this year’s Pacific Island- themed gala will assist local cancer patients with financial need.

 Showing Support for Those With Cancer

“This is the second year the Gala will take place in Viera and businesses from throughout Brevard are showing their support,” said Grace Vista, Foundation Board member and Daffodil Gala Chairperson.

The Space Coast Cancer Foundation assists local cancer patients and their caregivers with the financial and emotional demands that are associated with the diagnosis and treatment of cancer, as well as, supporting oncology education.

Tickets to the event are $125 per person and sponsorship opportunities are still available.

 Cancer Survivor of the Year

During the festivities, the foundation will honor the Volunteer of the Year, and present the Cancer Survivor of the Year Recognition Award.

The Space Coast Cancer Foundation is the fundraising and charitable arm of Space Coast Cancer Center, which houses a comprehensive network of services so patients may concentrate on their road to recovery.

To further that goal, the Space Coast Cancer Center Foundation presents the Daffodil Gala, which is a celebration of life for cancer patients and those who have been touched by the disease.

Dr. Levine, the Space Coast Cancer Foundation chairman, and president of Space Coast Cancer Center, has been in Brevard County since 1983. He has a deep connection with the community and still maintains regular contact with patients from his first year in practice.

“They have become family,” said Dr. Levine.
