The Titans improved to 4-1 overall and 1-0 in the Florida College System Activities Association with the win. Broward dropped to 1-3-1 and 0-2 in the FCSAA.

The game also served as the NJCAA Region 8 opener for BCC, which will play a total of six games against Broward and Polk State College to determine which one team advances to the NJCAA national tournament Nov. 11 to 17 at Melbourne Central Catholic High School.

Sophomore co-captains Morgan Taylor Smith and Lois Edvardsson scored their second and fifth goals of the season respectively off assists from sophomore Courtney Hueston to give BCC the victory.

The goals came with 24 and 33 minutes gone respectively in the second half in which BCC dominated play.

Broward had the better of the play in the first half, but BCC pressed the action during the second half that opened with the game’s second downpour.
