BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Titusville Police detectives are investigating a shooting overnight that left a man dead from multiple gunshot wounds and two others with serious injuries.

Titusville Police Department Major Todd Hutchinson said that at 12:30 a.m. Monday, police responded to a shooting at 1950 Smith Drive.

“Upon arriving, officers found three victims that had been shot just outside the home. An adult male with apparent multiple gunshot wounds was pronounced dead at the scene,” Hutchinson said. “Two other adult male shooting victims were flown by helicopter with serious injuries.”

Hutchinson said all three shooting victims know each other and live in the same neighborhood.

Police have taken William T. Woodward of 1960 Smith Drive in Titusville, 44, into custody pending first degree murder charges.

“The preliminary investigation reveals that the shooting may likely be the result of an ongoing dispute between the deceased victim and the suspect,” Hutchinson said.

Names of the victims have not being released yet pending notification of relatives.

Detectives and crime scene investigators remain at the scene and have been interviewing witnesses throughout the night.

  1. if this shooting had to do with drugs it was a matter of time because I have reported lots of drug activity in Titusville and the police have done nothing.
