Titans Golf Team Starts Fast In First Tournament

BCC Second In Alabama Event

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Brevard Community College’s golf team finished its first tournament of the six-event fall season in second place on Tuesday, 14 strokes behind winner Central Alabama in the Wallace State Fall Invitational in Cullman, Ala.

Central Alabama shot 282-280-288-850 for the 54-hole tournament to 287-290-287-864 for BCC. Central Alabama’s Baxter Reeves was the tournament’s individual winner shooting 68-67-72-207.

BCC’s Arthur Leonard finished third individually shooting 70-70-72-212 over the par 72, 6,351-yard Cullman Municipal Golf Course. 

Other BCC scores were Nick Maynard 74-73-70-217, Keith Greene 75-70-75-220, Blake Biggs 71-77-72-220 and Brett Maue 72-80-73-225.

“We hung in there really well today,” BCC head coach Jamie Howell said. “We had a chance to make up some ground. It was a long shot but the guys hung in there. They fought right until the end. That’s what I’m after. A lot of positives from this event.”

Next up for BCC is the Sept. 23 to 24 Webber Warrior Invitational at Webber International in Lake Wales.
