By Space Coast Daily // November 10, 2012
ORLANDO, FLORIDA – The Dr Pepper Snapple Group presents ‘PUGSGIVING,’ Pug Rescue of Florida’s 10th annual Pug Celebration and adopt-a-thon event on Saturday, Nov. 10 from 11 to 5 p.m. at the Ramada Gateway Convention Center (7470 Highway 192 West, Kissimmee).
This event is family and dog friendly – admission is free for children under 12 and dogs and just $5 for adults.
PUGSGIVING features the largest selection of adoptable pugs in the state, a Pet Blessing, pet photos, great pet products, pug jewelry, a large Silent Auction and Raffle and plenty of Pug contests.
New and exciting things at PUGSGIVING this year include a Service Pug Demonstration, Pug Wine, PROoF Cookbook, a new 2012 T-shirt Logo, Pug Agility Contest and the Wall of Rescues. Attendees should bring photos of their rescued pug for posting on the Wall.
PUGSGIVING is expected to draw nearly 2,000 people and will feature fun contests such as Best Kisser, Biggest Shedder, Pug Costume contests and competitions.
A sports bar will be serving Pugtinis and Pugaritas all day.
With the largest selection of adoptable pugs in the state available on-site, attendees will be able to directly interact with the adoptable pugs and start the adoption process on-site.
Launched in 2002, the purpose of PUGSGIVING is to raise much needed money and awareness for pugs in need of medical care and homes.
It is the biggest event of its kind in Florida. There will be a large silent auction with a room full of items for both people and pets. Auction items will feature everything from Disney Park passes to pug collectibles.
In addition to the silent auction, there will be door prizes and hourly raffles. Corporate sponsors include the Dr Pepper Snapple Group, Dick Van Patten’s Natural Balance Pet Foods, Inc, Olympia Pharmacy, North Florida Neurology, Animal Eye Clinic of North Florida, Plantation Animal Hospital, Woof Gang Bakery, and South Seminole Animal Hospital.
“I can’t emphasize enough the importance of PUGSGIVING to the Pug Rescue of Florida and the pugs we serve.
We consistently have over 100 pugs in foster care and the money we raise goes directly to providing veterinary care for our foster pugs.
We look forward to yet another successful event; our goal for PUGSGIVING this year is to raise at least $25,000”, says Kelli Spence, President of Pug Rescue of Florida, Inc.
