Santa Fe Defeats BCC At JUCO Shootout

Titans Now 2-6 Overall

GAINESVILLE, FLORIDA – The Brevard Community College women’s basketball team dropped its third straight game and sixth of the season, falling 93-56 to Santa Fe College on the final day of the JUCO Shootout in Gainesville on Saturday.

BCC trailed 49-27 at halftime and is now 2-6. The loss was BCC’s third this season to Santa Fe, the first two by scores of 88-83 and 97-66.

Freshman Nuri Muhammad led BCC with 13 points.

Titans sophomore co-captain Shaneece Stephens added 12.

“It was a devastating loss,” BCC head coach Renee Bellamy said. “We had opportunities to score but couldn’t put the ball in the basket.”

Next up for BCC is a string of three games in three days starting with Thursday’s 7 p.m. home game in the Melbourne Campus gym against Chipola College.

BCC then heads to the Daytona State College tournament where it plays host Daytona at 6 p.m. on Friday and Hillsborough Community College at noon on Saturday.
