BCC Falls To 2-5 On Season

GAINESVILLE, FLORIDA – The Brevard Community College women’s basketball team suffered its fifth defeat of the season, falling 65-50 to Tallahassee Community College in Friday’s first round of the JUCO Shootout at Santa Fe Community College in Gainesville.

BCC plays host Santa Fe at 6 p.m. Saturday to wrap up the tournament. BCC is 2-5.

Tallahassee CC led BCC 28-20 at halftime.

“We played well in the first half and the last five minutes of the second half,” BCC head coach Renee Bellamy said. “I was not pleased with losing. However I was really pleased with the way our ladies finished the last five minutes of the game.”

Sophomore co-captain Shaneece Stephens led BCC with 11 points and six rebounds.

Titans freshman Jasmine Bullard scored 11 points and grabbed five rebounds.
