BCC's Boggs Makes Immediate Impression

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – As Brevard Community College head softball coach Ed Yanes tried to determine his lineup for the 2013 season over the winter, one returning player’s name came to the forefront almost immediately.

Sophomore Cassie Boggs from Lyman High School in Longwood made a successful transition to college softball last season and gave BCC everything they asked for and more as a player.

Boggs led the way as the Titans placed nine players placed on the 2012 Southern Conference All-Conference teams and captured “Player of the Year” honors among all of suiting up in the conference.

The centerfielder played sparkling defense and anchored the Titans offensive attack, compiling a batting average of .414 with 6 home runs and 50 RBIs.

We sat down with Boggs as BCC’s Spring Sports media Day and asked her about the team’s chances this season and some of her personal goals this year.
