BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Brevard Community College golf team, playing shorthanded with four players, dropped a three-point format match to Monmouth College of New Jersey on Thursday, falling 9-3.

Under the format one point is awarded to the low score for each nine-hole segment and the total for 18 holes.

BCC’s Kyle Benson shot 70 to win the three points for BCC. Anthony Skirk shot 77, Nick Maynard shot 84 and Nelson Apsey shot 86, all at the Rockledge Country Club.
Next up for BCC is the Barry University Buccaneer Invitational in Miami on April 1 and 2, the final regular-season tournament before NJCAA Division I District 4 play April 15 and16 in Pendleton, S.C.
That tournament decides who advances to the NJCAA Division I national tournament May 14 to 17 in Lubbock, Texas.
BCC has qualified for the national tournament for 10 straight years.
