Clerc & Hernandez Still Unbeaten In Doubles

HILTON HEAD, SOUTH CAROLINA – Florida Tech improved to 3-3 in men’s tennis on the season by defeating the University of Findlay, 7-2, on Tuesday in South Carolina.

The Panthers swept the doubles flight and lost just two singles matches in the victory.

Junior Nicolas Clerc and freshman Patrick Hernandez remain undefeated since teaming up as the No. 1 doubles pairing. The duo won their third-straight match with an 8-3 decision over John Kidd and Dawid Hebda.

Also improving to 3-0 on the season was sophomore Beau Fieldsend and junior Matic Leskovar. The tandem won their third consecutive match at No. 2 doubles with a 9-7 decision over Yannick Mohring and Josh Smedley.

Sophomore Riley Lorenz and senior Barry Dylewski capped doubles action with an 8-6 victory over Djordje Ljubinkovic and Connor Majdalani.

Lorenz also won his singles match. The sophomore took No. 2 singles, 7-6 (7-5), 6-1, over Mohring. Leskovar followed at No. 3 singles with a 6-4, 6-1 decision over Kidd.

Hernandez improved his record to 4-1 after falling for the first time yesterday. The freshman defeated Hebda, 6-3, 6-4.

Dylewski won his second consecutive match by sweeping Matt Smith in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0, in No. 5 singles.

The Panthers will face Brevard College on Wednesday.
