Fugitive Unit Takes Down Suspect On the Run

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Fugitive Unit and U.S. Marshal Service Task Force arrested John Sachs, 37, on Monday, May 21 for an active South Carolina arrest warrant for Kidnapping and Sexual Assault, according to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.

After receiving a tip that Sachs was in Cocoa Beach, the U.S. Marshal Service and members of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Unit located the suspect at a hotel in Cocoa Beach and took him into custody without incident. Sachs was booked into the Brevard County Jail Complex on a No Bond status and is awaiting extradition proceedings back to South Carolina.

According to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, Sachs is a suspect in kidnapping and sexually assaulting a 19 year-old female victim, which was reported to the Horry County Police Department in South Carolina on February 10.
