Multiple Retail Theft Cases Solved in West Melbourne

BREVARD COUNTY • WEST MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – According to a release from the West Melbourne Police Department, two suspects have been arrested for a string of theft cases involving $3,450 worth of electronics from the West Melbourne Walmart at 845 Palm Bay Road.

During the months of April and May 2013, the West Melbourne Walmart  experienced multiple retail theft cases involving high dollar electronics. According to West Melbourne Police Department, detectives reviewed the cases and saw the same suspects on surveillance video.

Detectives compiled the photographs and reached out to other local law enforcement agencies believing the suspects might be involved in thefts in other jurisdictions. Their efforts resulted in Jerry Allgood (43, Melbourne) and Martin Hinkle (41, Melbourne) being identified in the West Melbourne thefts.

SUSPECTS CHARGED WITH GRAND THEFT

At this time, Allgood is charged with seven counts of Grand Theft, while Hinkle is charged with four counts of Grand Theft. The total amount of property stolen from the West Melbourne  Walmart is approximately $3,450. West Melbourne Police Detectives are still working with investigators in other jurisdictions to aid in their investigations. Both defendants are currently incarcerated at the Brevard County Jail in Sharpes.
