O’Hern Joins Maverick Multimedia

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Matt O’Hern, a veteran journalist, has joined Maverick Multimedia as Creative Content Editor and Digital Marketing Director.
O’Hern is a native of Brevard County, Florida and experienced multimedia editor and journalist. After graduating from Merritt Island Christian School, he received a degree in journalism from Samford University in Birmingham, Ala.
“I’m thrilled to join a multimedia organization that truly prioritizes the interests of its audience,” O’Hern said.
“Our mission is to ensure that each SpaceCoastDaily.com visitor not only reads our reports, but also engages with fellow readers to become more involved with the issues and events in Brevard County.”

During his college career, O’Hern covered news and college sports for the Birmingham Post-Herald, as well as the Samford University Crimson. He also worked as an intern for the Brevard County Manatees marketing team during the summer of 2001.
In 2004, O’Hern returned to Florida to report on local news and sports for Hometown News, a weekly newspaper based in Melbourne, Fla. By 2008, he made the transition from print journalism to online editing and publishing, social media, search engine optimization and Google SEM advertising campaigns.
O’Hern’s projects have involved digital media clients ranging from editorial websites and small businesses, to political candidates at the U.S. Congressional, Senate and Presidential level. His hybrid geographic/niche interest-targeted campaigns were covered by CNN politics, and O’Hern’s marketing blog for MarketingShift.com was cited by the New York Times.
