Doctor’s Expo Expanded To Include Health Fair

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – The Doctors’ Goodwill Foundation expanded its annual Doctor’s Expo to include a daytime community health fair and and an evening Gala dinner.

The 10th annual Doctor’s Expo was held at the Holiday Inn Express in Cocoa last Saturday as local physicians and health care practitioners attended classes, met with exhibitors, networked and attended the evening gala.

DAYTIME EVENT A HIT WITH EXHIBITORS, ATTENDEES

Exhibitors included Health First Systems, Sea Pines, Space Coast Cancer Center, Gentiva, Parrish Medical Center, Central Florida Home Health, My MedWALL, and the Brevard County Health Department, among others.

The community Health Fair featured children’s games, food trucks, sports physicals, bounce houses, and a visit from the Fire Department.

The Foundation offers continuing education credits, a venue to learn about new and innovative products and services and provides free healthcare to those in need.

“During the past 10 years, we have helped thousands throughout the world, including those in disaster areas in the United States, and also organizations and people in need in our community,” said Dr. Kantilal Bhalani, Doctors’ Goodwill Foundation Founder. “The Expo is a full day of health and fun, and the opportunity for health care workers to receive free CME’s and CEUs.”

To help those that wish to further their education in healthcare, the Foundation has awarded more than 60 scholarships to date. Barbara Carter represented Patient Advocacy Support Services (PASS), a new service offered by the Foundation.

“PASS is a non-profit group designed to help consumers navigate the health care system, understand their health needs, and get information on medications and insurance. We plan to offer PASS statewide” said Carter.

EVENING GALA ATTRACTS MORE THAN 200

The Doctors Goodwill Foundation Dinner Gala was very well received by more than 200 leaders of the Space Coast medical community, which gathered at the Space Coast Convention Center in Cocoa.

Led by Dr. Balani, the evening featured a silent auction, entertaining youth dancers and education about the foundation’s initiatives – all emcee’d by Central Florida News 13 television personality Greg Pallone.

Dr. Bhalani was honored for his efforts in leading the Doctors Goodwill Foundation and many sponsors were recognized.

COALITION TO IMPROVE HEALTHCARE

The Doctors Goodwill Foundation is a coalition of doctors, nurses, pharmacists, allied health professionals, hospitals, healthcare agencies and area businesses who have joined together to improve the healthcare system.
